On the come out roll you have two options – the pass and the don’t pass line bets. Most people bet on the pass, but the better odds play is to bet on don’t pass. Also, in effect it looks like you’re betting against the player and the other players at the table. No one wants to appear to be against the player.

So this is how they suggest that you win on the don’t pass line.

On the come out roll, a 2 or 3 with a don’t pass bet wins. Alternately, you will loss a don’t pass bet on the come out with a 7 or 11. On the come out roll, the pass line actually has better odds of winning with a house edge of 1.35% – whereas the don’t pass line has a house of 1.41%. But once the point is established, then betting don’t pass has a better odds of winning.

So how do you play the odds with a don’t pass bet. This is done by simply placing an “odds bet” on your don’t pass bet. Then if the the shooter rolls a 7 he loses and you win – as unpopular as that may appear to the shooter, it is the best bet for your wallet!
